Scope: The new single story 13,100 square foot Outpatient Imaging Center is located on the Jackson Hospital campus in Montgomery, Alabama. The Imaging center spaces include X-ray, MRI, CT, PET scan, Ultrasound, Mammography, as well as support and administrative areas.
The mechanical system consists of roof mounted chilled water variable air volume air handling units, VAV single duct shut off boxes with electric reheat, and a separate MRI cooling and HVAC system. Multi-stack air cooled chiller was used at the rear of the building due to limited space. Close coordination was required in the lobby, which included architectural elements such as ceiling “clouds”, and exposed ductwork, diffusers, and fire protection systems.
