HHB Engineers is the Mechancial Engineer for the design and construction phase of the new 24,000 sq. ft. health department facility. The HVAC system which consisted of approximately 50 tons of high-efficiency natural gas furnaces with split-system DX cooling coils. Some of the units were also installed with side-stream dehumidifiers for extra humidity control. The multi-purpose room and waiting room units were designed with CO2 sensors for demand-controlled ventilation to save energy and help control humidity levels, since these rooms are occupied intermittently. A high efficiency gas-fired water heater with a circulator pump was designed to meet the building’s hot water needs. The project is expected to be completed in 2016.
The project budget was $3,800,000.
