CMC selected HHB Engineers to design the $450,000 cooling system for their steel plate tempering quench system. The current system utilized cooling towers and was unable to provide the temperatures required for their specialty steel products. Time was essential as the new system needed to be on-line as soon as possible. HHB assisted in the pre-purchase of the 500-ton air cooled chiller and furnished bid documents within 30 days. System operation exceeded CMC expectations, with the following report: “The chiller system is working great! We have seen a huge improvement in hardness, shape, and consistency in our products. We have also seen an improvement in mechanical properties.”
Revit was used for design phase renderings for presentation to CMC.
