HHB Engineers, P.C. has evolved since forming in 1983, starting as Hattemer Hornsby & Associates, to HHB Engineers, P,C, and a Women-Owned Small Business.
HHB specializes in the design and analysis of mechanical systems for new and existing buildings, and is located in Prattville, Alabama, part of the great Montgomery metro area. Our In-House expertise includes project management on multidisciplinary AE projects as both Prime AE and Consultant, design of mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, controls & building automation, and fire protection systems, as well as energy modeling and LEED certified designs. HHB Engineers’ Principals are involved in the project from start to finish, including site visits and construction administration to ensure project goals and milestones are achieved. We employ licensed professional engineers and also include a LEED professional and certified Commissioning Agent. Our PEs are registered throughout the Southeastern United States. Drafting and design tools include AutoCAD Revit for Building Information Modeling (BIM) as well as AutoCAD MEP, both through the current version. Even when using AutoCAD MEP, our designs are modeled in 3D, a standard at HHB Engineers.
The firm has experience with all phases of a project including project planning, programming, project management, design, analysis, and construction supervision including fast track design-build projects.

As Prime A/E, HHB has been the Team Leader for numerous direct multi-discipline type contracts and tasked with the coordination of overall design services on major construction projects (up to $80 Mil for a Prime AE contract) for various government agencies including the Corps of Engineers and GSA, military bases, schools and universities, hospitals, laboratories, religious and recreational facilities, sustainable design, and LEED certified projects.
For LEED Projects, HHB Engineers self performs all energy modeling required for LEED certification, LEED calculations for the mechanical and plumbing design, provides required documentation for certification, and completes mechanical related templates in LEED Online.
HHB Engineers is a corporate member of the United States Green Building Council (USGBC).
