7th Special Forces Complex

Type: Full Design

Scope: Full Design and construction administration of two sites in the industrial area for the relocation of the 7th Special Forces from Ft. Bragg to Eglin Air Force base. Design team completed multiple site visits to Ft. Bragg to discuss specific requirements and to visit existing facilities. HHB Engineers served as the Mechanical, Plumbing, Fire Protection, RCDD Data design and Electrical consultant.

Site 1 consisted of the GSB Logistics Support facility, 47,000 SF single story building.

  1. SSA Warehouse, heated and ventilated only.  High bay lighting
  2. MED area complete with storage and office spaces, fully air conditioned
  3. Central issue with 12’ storage racks, fully conditioned
  4. Airborne equipment, parachute static packing, parachute storage, HALO packing and storage, Oxygen calibration, safe and storage roof.  Space fully conditioned
  5. Parachute drying tower with parachute washing and riggine, forced air heating. Due to bight of parachute drying tower, fire pump required for the fire protections system.
  6. Mass notification system

Site 2 consisted of four buildings: GSB Tactical Equipment Maintenance, Oil storage, GSB/HHC Organizational equipment storage (4500 sf), and a HAZMAT building.  The equipment storage building open sided with lighting and water only.  The GSB Tactical Equipment Maintenance featured the following:

  1. 27,000 sf first floor and 6900 sf second floor.
  2. Four vehicle maintenance equipment bays with compressed air and central piping for engine oil, gear lubricant, gear oil and anti-freeze (to retractable hose reels).
  3. Retractable reel tail pipe exhaust system.
  4. Air conditioned space (15,000 sf) with air cooled chiller and electric VAV terminals
  5. Mass notification system
