Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity House
HHB served as the Mechanical, Plumbing, and Fire Protection engineers for the new 33,000 square foot fraternity house on the University of Alabama campus, completed in 2011. The HVAC system consists of a 4-pipe hydronic system with an 80-ton air-cooled chiller, condensing boilers, air handlers, variable air volume (VAV) boxes, and fan-coil units. A DX unit with a desiccant wheel provided fresh air for the 2nd and 3rd floor dorm rooms. The building is also equipped with a commercial kitchen with exhaust hood.
Overall project cost: $6 million
