HHB Engineers were the Mechanical Engineers for the design/build renovation and addition of a 6,000 sf historic visitors center building at the Ft. Donelson National Battlefield. The building is being renovated to become more energy efficient, sustainable, and accessible. The addition includes the installation of an elevator. The HVAC system consists of 18 tons of variable refrigerant flow (VRF) heat recovery equipment. Outside air is being added to the building by means of an energy recovery ventilator. Project also includes new plumbing systems for the building as well as made provisions to add a wet-pipe fire suppression system with fire pump to fully protect the building. The design/build contractor is KHDM Construction in Opp, AL.
