Fuel Cell and Corrosion Control Facility

HHB Engineers (HHB) is serving as the Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Design and Fire Protection Engineering consultants, for the new 18,500 sq. ft. Fuel Cell and Corrosion Control Facility, and is responsible for all aspects of the new Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning (HVAC) system electrical systems, fire detection & alarm systems, plumbing and fire protection systems.  The new facility will be used for daily operation and maintenance of fuel cells and the control of corrosion in aircraft and tanks. The design provides a functional plan to allow for efficient and safe maintenance of the F-16 aircraft.

This project achieved a LEED Silver rating under v2.2 and met Air National Guard requirements.  Included in the design is a ground source heat pump (geothermal) vertical bore closed loop system, consisting of six 250 ft deep wells, to condition the office area only.  The main high bays, paint booth, and maintenance bays are equipped with exhaust systems and heating only system.
