Phi Delta Theta Fraternity House

HHB served as the Mechanical, Plumbing, and Fire Protection engineers on the new 24,000 square foot Phi Delta Theta Fraternity House on the University of Alabama campus, expected to open fall 2012.  The new Chapter House is located at the corner of University Boulevard and Second Avenue. The economical and energy efficient Chapter House has 30 Dorm rooms, House Manager Suite, full-service Kitchen capable of serving both the Dining Hall and adjoining Fellowship Hall concurrently, naturally-lit Chapter Room, Recreation Room, Library, Formal Sitting Area, Study Hall, Laundry Room, and secured Social Courtyard.

The HVAC system consists of 42 tons of high efficiency Mitsubishi City-Multi variable refrigerant flow (VRF) equipment as well as 15 tons of conventional DX heat pumps.  Energy recovery ventilators provided outside air to the building.
