Replace Chillers, Unit 1 Service Building Project
HHB Engineers was Prime consultant for the project – Replace Chillers, Unit 1 Service Building. Project included replacement of 120-ton air cooled chiller used for cooling the Unit 1 control room and support spaces. During an upgrade to the pollution controls, ammonia processing system installed in manner to block easy access to the chiller, location required rigging and hoisting through existing plant structure, with minimal downtime allowed. Structural capacity of existing hoist beams verified prior to bidding. Project also included replacement of 100-ton air cooled chiller on the service building, and piping to inter-connect the three chillers at the service building.
