Upgrade Chilled Water Distribution System
Hattemer, Hornsby & Bailey (HHB) served as the Engineer of Record (Consultant to IC Thomason) for the upgrade to the UAB chilled water distribution system. This included:
- Surveys of over 185 mechanical rooms to verify coil capacity, configuration and piping arrangement.
- Drawings for the replacement of three way and improperly sized two way control valves with new 2-way industrial grade control valves
- Removal or bypass of existing building chilled water pumps.
- Monitoring building performance (using existing metering system) to determine optimal chilled water plant differential set point.
The project received a Regional and National Technology Award.
