Construction of the new Fuel Cell and Corrosion Control Facility at the Air National Guard facility in Montgomery, AL is almost complete. HHB Engineers (HHB) is serving as the Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Design and Fire Protection Engineering consultants, for the new 18,500 sq. ft. Facility. The new facility will be used for daily operation and maintenance of fuel cells and the control of corrosion in aircraft and tanks. The design provides a functional plan to allow for efficient and safe maintenance of the F-16 aircraft.
This project is pursuing a LEED Silver rating under v2.2. Included in the design is a ground source heat pump (geothermal) vertical bore closed loop system, consisting of six 250 ft deep wells to condition the office area only. The main high bays, paint booth, and maintenance bays are equipped with exhaust systems and heating only system.
