Montgomery Co. D.A.’s renovation ready to begin

Montgomery Co. D.A.’s office temporarily moving for renovations

MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) –

The Montgomery County District Attorney’s office will have a new home for about a year.

Employees will move to the One Dexter Plaza building so renovations can begin in their county courthouse offices.

Cramped work spaces, peeling paint and a broken air conditioner are just a few of the problems that led to the renovation — the first since 1986.

“There’s a lot of problems with the building we have. We have insufficient space, lawyers that are in closets, the water that comes out of the faucets is brown. We have black particles falling out of the ceiling,” said District Attorney Daryl Bailey. “The county has been working diligently to renovate all the spaces they have, and we have been waiting our turn and it is our turn.”

The move will take place on July 1. Renovations should be finished in about a year.
