Renovation and Rehabilitation of the Vance Federal Building and Courthouse in downtown Birmingham, Alabama has recently completed. The project was funded by the American Reinvestment and Recovery Act (ARRA) of 2009, is a GSA Design Excellence Project and GSA High-Performance Green Building, and is projected to receive a LEED Gold rating (version 3). The almost 180,000 sf building was originally built in 1921 as a post office and federal courthouse.
HHB Engineers was the MEP Engineering firm for the design and construction phases of the project.
